Welcome to WILDCATS BASKETBALL

The alumni of the Flower Mound Wildcats Select Basketball Program were well represented in many of the high schools in north Texas during the 2010 - 2011 basketball season.

Marcus High school achieved the highest honor in Texas by WINNING the CLASS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2011.  Three of our former Wildcats players were on the championship team, two of which started for the top team in Texas.  This group of kids achieved a record of 39 - 1, which was the best record in Texas for the second consecutive year.  Their achievements included winning the 2010 Whataberger tournament for the second consecutive year, defeating the top team in Lousiana and an undefeated #1 team from Oklahoma.  They also defeated the other top five teams in Texas along the way to wining the State championship.

This team was also recognized as the #1 team in the Nation at the end of the season by Max Preps, a nationally recognized organization which ranks the top players and teams in the nation.

Connor Taggart achieved All State Tournament for his outstanding play in the two games played in Austin.  Connor was one of five players achieving the recognition in the state tournament.

For the second year in a row, Marcus high school recorded the best basketball season in school history.   They were again undefeated in District  play, won their Area, Bi-District and Regional championships before advancing to win the 5A State Championship.  Marcus had similar accomplishments during the 2009-2010 season...advancing to the State Semi-Finals.  They lost this game in overtime by two points to the eventual State Champion.  Their record of 38 - 3 was not only the best record in Marcus' school history, but was also the best in the state of Texas in 2009 - 2010.  Seven of the twelve Marcus players participated in the Wildcats Select Basketball Program, including one former player who was recognized as All-District.

Flower Mound High school had another 20-win seasonin 2009-2010, and qualified for the state playoffs once again...losing a close game in the area finals.  Six of the ten FMHS players were former Wildcats teammates.  Chris Shelton received Class 5A All-State recognition for his academic accomplishments.

In 2008-2009, Marcus high school won 20 games for the fourth consecutive season and the outright District 6-5A championship for the first time in six years.  Twelve of the 15 varsity players were former Wildcats players, including eight of the nine seniors.  One of our former players made All-District as a junior.  Marcus also reached the post-season playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.  Marcus entered the post season play by defeating Grapevine high in their Bi-District playoff game, before losing to nationally ranked Duncanville in an area playoff game.  Six of the 10 junior varsity players were former Wildcats, while the sophomore team had won their district championship with five former Wildcats.  Significant goals were achieved be two of our former Wildcats...Alex Nunn was recognized as class Valadictorian...and Garret Garber was class Salutatorian.  These outstanding young mem were separated by 0.01 grade points.

Flower Mound high school won 20 games during the 2008-2009 season and again qualified for the post season playoffs.  Six varsity players were former Wildcats, including one senior, four juniors and a sophomore.  Both the senior and the sophomore each made the All-District 6-5A team.  Flower Mound defeated state-ranked Keller F Ridge in their Bi-District game before losing to state ranked Irving in the area playoff game.  The junior varsity included three former Wildcats, while the sophomore team had seven former Wildcats.

Four of the seniors for 2008 - 2009 Lake Dallas high school varsity were former Wildcats, and they all were starters for their varsity.  Lewisville high school had one former Wildcats player, a freshman, who started for the varsity and also made All-District.   Southlake Carroll high had a former Wildcats player starting at center for their sophomore team.  Liberty Christian Academy had one senior starter, and leading scorer, on their varsity, and one sophomore starting for their junior varsity who were former Wildcats.  Jesuit high had one former Wildcats player, and Temple Christian Academy high had three former Wildcats.
